Attisholz area, Riedholz

For 130 years, the Attisholz complex was used for the industrial production of cellulose. Since the end of 2016, Halter Inc. has been working closely with the local and cantonal authorities to transform the site – which is ideally situated – and give it a new purpose and use for the benefit of future generations.

The industrial complex is impressive for the sheer size and volume of the buildings, and the aim is to retain its grandeur as a reminder of an important, if bygone, era.

New residents have already moved in and others are set to follow. Over the next 20 or 30 years, it will transmute into a lively space with an inspiring interplay between residential and working areas, education and research, where residents can live, experience and enjoy their lives in an attractive recreational area on the Aare.
