The large-scale urban development project Praille Acacias Vernets (PAV) in the municipalities of Geneva, Carouge and Lancy is one of the largest transformation projects in Europe. By 2050, a new district will be created on the site of the current industrial and commercial area, with nine new districts forming an urban network that closely merges living, working, culture and nature in a compact space, while striving for net-zero carbon emissions.
The Étoile district will form the centre of the new urban area. Two high-rise buildings, each around 170 metres high – one of which is being developed by Halter AG and Fordinvest GmbH – will become a landmark of Geneva's new cityscape, visible from afar. Covering an area of more than 50,000 m², Tour de l'Étoile 3 will house over 300 apartments of various sizes and price ranges, as well as space for public facilities, gastronomy, commerce and services. A publicly accessible panoramic floor will make Tour de l'Étoile 3 a popular attraction with high visitor numbers. The broad mix of uses combines urban density with quality of life and contributes significantly to the economic, demographic and social vision for the pioneering Praille Acacias Vernets district.
