The transformation of a site formerly used for commercial purposes in Buchs is creating space for three residential buildings comprising a total of 72 flats. ‘Tiglio’ will provide a diverse range of housing options in the immediate vicinity of Aarau Cantonal Hospital and the Higher Technical College for Health and Social Care. Some of the flats will be built using the MOVEment housing concept developed by Halter, which enables flexible living arrangements within a compact footprint.
The open space is designed to be close to nature and focused on high ecological quality, with the aim of achieving certification from ‘Natur & Wirtschaft’. In addition, areas for socialising and community life are being created. The existing lime tree will be preserved and continues to shape the identity of the new residential environment.
Based on a feasibility study carried out by Halter, the project was further developed in collaboration with the client as part of a development agreement. Halter conducted the design study and is responsible for the realisation of the residential project as the main contractor.
