With the «Future HG» project, the historic headquarters of Swiss Life AG on General-Guisan-Quai in Zurich is undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment. The 32,144 m² building complex comprises four sections with different levels of heritage protection, each requiring a tailored approach: one section is being carefully restored both internally and externally, while two others will retain their façades and undergo a complete redesign of their interiors. A fourth section will be fully transformed, with both the interior and façade being redesigned.
The project demonstrates how protected built heritage can be enhanced and developed in an economically viable manner. It creates attractive working environments tailored to future needs, thereby generating real added value for both the owner and the users.
