Renovation of the heritage-protected Bollwerk 15

Bern

The entire property underwent a comprehensive renovation, with a focus on the building services and the office floors from the first floor upwards. The existing catering areas on the ground floor were redesigned and renovated accordingly. The Bollwerk pharmacy was able to remain in operation during the renovation work. The historic sandstone façade was restored and the roof was completely renewed down to its basic construction. In addition, all windows and shop windows were replaced.

The static building structure, the staircase and the entrance area were carefully upgraded and maintained. In terms of building services, a controlled ventilation system and a cooling system for the office space were installed. Energy has since been supplied via the district heating network instead of via gas heating, as was previously the case. The sanitary facilities were also completely renewed.

Since the building was a listed property, the renovation work was carried out in close cooperation with the relevant heritage protection authorities.
