The building at 40 rue du Marché in Geneva is located right in the heart of the city, opposite place du Molard. Several elements of the building are classified as monuments and sites of special interest (main façade overlooking place du Molard, three façades looking on to the central atrium of the building, staircase). The construction project involves converting the building into a CitizenM hotel with 144 rooms and reorganising the commercial units at street level on rue du Marché. The building comprises a basement, lower ground floor, ground and upper ground floors, six further floors and an attic level. The plant rooms are to be housed in the basement and attic levels.
- The commercial units will occupy the lower ground and ground floors (1,000 m2 + 100 m2), while the hotel will occupy all other levels (4,400 m2).
