Sahlimatte Hinterkappelen: approval of rezoning – green light for intergenerational densification

On 28 September 2025, voters in the municipality of Wohlen near Bern approved the rezoning of the Sahlimatte site. This decision establishes the planning framework for the development of a new residential quarter in the centre of Hinterkappelen.

Following the approval, planning for the Sahlimatte project can continue. The development is set to provide a diverse range of housing for different stages of life, complemented by shared outdoor spaces and a proportion of affordable housing. Further planning will be carried out in close coordination with the municipality and the relevant authorities.
