The two properties, both around 60 years old, will undergo total refurbishment. The floor plan of the existing apartments will remain unchanged, which means the 44 existing units will be retained. Only the bathrooms and kitchens will be structurally upgraded. In addition, both buildings will have thermally insulated façades, new windows and new building technology. In future, a photovoltaic system on the roof will cover internal electricity needs. Half of the apartments will remain occupied during the refurbishment and conversion phases, calling for precise logistical planning from project management and the building's administrators.
