New laboratory building for FLUX Eawag, Dübendorf

The Empa complex in Dübendorf will be home to the new FLUX office and laboratory building. The winning design emerged from a two-stage global service competition. The beauty of the building lies in its compactness and clearly structured layout, which will keep building and operating costs low and make processes more efficient. BIM was used consistently throughout the project development, meaning that a digital realization of the building was available as early as the design phase. The advantages of this method are earlier and improved decision-making, fewer disagreements, significantly increased efficiency and cost savings of about 15 percent compared with the competition.
