Two symbolic skyscrapers to be built in Geneva: Halter and Fordinvest are developing one of the two projects alongside Rolex, with a height of around 170 metres
The signing of the planning agreement with the Fondation Praille-Acacias-Vernets and the Canton of Geneva lays the foundation for the development of two high-rise buildings. These form a striking element of the Praille-Acacias-Vernets (PAV) urban planning project – the largest development project in Switzerland and one of the largest in Europe.
Over the next few years, nine new urban districts will be built on an area of more than 140 hectares, providing over 12,000 new homes, 6,000 new jobs, public facilities and spacious open and green spaces. The PAV project embodies the sustainable urban transformation of this still-active industrial district into nine new, vibrant neighbourhoods characterised by a variety of uses on the southern edge of Geneva.
The Quartier de l'Étoile, a new centre for Geneva, is primarily characterised by high-rise buildings, including two towers approximately 170 metres tall. The «Tour de l'Étoile 3», developed by Halter and Fordinvest, with a height of 170 metres and an area of over 50,000 m², will form an urban and architectural landmark in Geneva together with the skyscraper planned by Rolex.
The «Tour de l’Étoile 3» will offer more than 300 apartments for a broad spectrum of the population, space for public facilities, restaurants, shops and services, and a top floor open to the public, thereby contributing significantly to the social and functional diversity of the Étoile district.
Halter is developing the project in partnership with Fordinvest Schweiz GmbH, which acquired the existing Tour de l’Étoile in 2000 and initiated the development. As the general contractor, Halter is also responsible for the construction of the high-rise building.
Halter is already present in the Praille-Acacias-Vernets area with one high-rise project that has already been completed and will be building another one from 2026 onwards. In addition, Halter has completed several iconic high-rise buildings in German-speaking Switzerland and has proven experience in the development and realisation of projects of this size and complexity.
